Summary
The Busser position is first and foremost responsible for the overall cleanliness of the restaurant’s dining floor and the tables and seats that guests will be using. Bussers are responsible for keeping tables clean and sanitized between guests, cleaning and stocking the bathrooms, taking trash out and replacing can liners, and filling and restocking water stations and glasses. Bussers are responsible for pre bussing tables, returning glassware to the bar to be cleaned, and cleaning any spillage or messes that may occur.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may
-Follow proper procedures for opening and closing setup and breakdown-Check on bathrooms, fill out the bathroom cleaning checklist, clean and restock supplies as needed-Stock caddies and patio carts with rollups, napkins, togo boxes, etc.-Setup and breakdown water stations, resupply cups as needed-Assist guests with any issues as needed and pass onto leads when applicable-Collects trash from dining areas after each serving period.-Remove soiled dishes from table; bring to dishwashing area.-Cleans dining areas.-Cleans up spills, broken service ware and attends to similar problems during service with minimal disruption to diners.-Moves tables and chairs as needed.-Re-sets tables and assists with setup at end of shift for the next meal period.-Cleans and stores child highchairs and booster seats in the proper designated area.-Directing floor issues to leads or management on duty
Requirements:-Must be able to lift 30 pounds-Must be able to work efficiently in a fast-moving environment-Must be an effective communicator, both with guests and other employees-Must be able to express certain limitations that can occur to a guest with a positive and friendly demeanor-Must be able to multitask, and monitor supplies used for service-Must be able to provide assistance to other stations as needed.-Must have the ability to learn and apply new knowledge or skills for your work.-Must have the ability to work effectively in a team environment and cooperate seamlessly with co-workers, management, and shift leaders.
